PULITZER AWARDS


The Pulitzer Prize is an award for achievements in newspaper and online journalism, literature, and musical composition in the United States. It was instituted in 1917 and named after US publisher Joseph Pulitzer.
This prize is administered by Columbia University in New York City.
Prizes are awarded yearly in twenty-one categories.
Each winner receives a certificate and a US$10,000 cash award.
The 2014 Pulitzer Prize winners were announced at Columbia University.This year, as Huffington Post's Michael Calderone pointed out, is the first time in a decade that no Pulitzer has been awarded in the Feature Writing category. 
Ø  2014 Journalism Award for Public Service is given to The Guardian US, and The Washington Post, for their coverage of the NSA.
Ø  India-born poet Vijay Seshadri has won the prestigious 2014 Pulitzer Prize in the poetry category for his collection of poems "3 Sections."
